The Philadelphia Heritage Chorale, J. Donald Dumpson, founder and director, will perform inspiring Americana and patriotic songs at a concert in the Betsy Ross House courtyard. The concert is the culmination of a week of events to commemorate Flag Day and National Flag Week.

The Philadelphia Heritage Chorale was founded by Dr. J. Donald Dumpson. The Chorale’s mission is to facilitate access for appreciation, participation, and celebration of the choral arts in Philadelphia that bring excellence of presentation to a broad range of choral literature with a special commitment to music borne of the African Diaspora.
J. Donald Dumpson, Ph.D., President/CEO of Diverse Arts Solutions and Minister of Arts at Arch Street Presbyterian Church, is the founding conductor of the Westminster Choir College Jubilee Singers, the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra Community Chorus, and presently the Philadelphia Heritage Chorale. He taught at Westminster Choir College, Cheyney University, and the Philadelphia High School for Creative and Performing Arts. He is the creator of A Soulful Christmas on the Kimmel Cultural Campus and WXPN’s The Gospel Roots of Rock and Soul. He has collaborated with Opera Philadelphia, Kathleen Battle’s The Underground Railroad and Breaking the Rules with Denyce Graves, Patti LaBelle, Chaka Khan, and Take 6, and Porgy and Bess with Jason Tramn and the New Jersey State Opera.
