A magical night of Fun and Fundraising Festivities to Benefit Franklin Square

Historic Philadelphia, Inc. (HPI) held the first Evening in Franklin Square in 2009 to support this treasured park. With the help of the community, the event was able to achieve great success and has continued to grow. The May 20, 2011 event welcomed more than 400 people to participate in the silent and live auction, dinner and dancing. Attendance has grown by over 30% since the event was launched in 2009. HPI raised nearly $150,000 to support the ongoing operation of Franklin Square, such as maintaining year-round security and free programs.

Square Derby - A Carousel Horse Race

Join in on the fun with the Square Derby - a carousel horse race during An Evening in Franklin Square. Become a jockey for any carousel animal (or bench!) or place your bet on the big race. The winner will claim their prize at the Winner's Circle and will be recognized on a sign at the Philadelphia Park Liberty Carousel for a full year. Saddle up!
