Join Benjamin Franklin for a day of celebration as Franklin Square turns 19! Festivities kick off at 10am with the first 100 guests getting a free ride on the Carousel and play for children Fun with YoYo. Ben Franklin will make an appearance to sing Happy Birthday to Franklin Square by the Rendell Family Fountain!

Schedule of Events

10:00 am – 12pm Family Fun in Franklin Square
– Free activities including birthday crafts, temporary tattoos
– Fun with YoYo – Music, games, giant bubbles, and fitness fun with YoYo
– Chinese Lantern Festival Scavenger Hunt

11:00 am – Once Upon a Nation Storytelling (11 am – 4 pm)
– One of eight uniformed storytellers delights and entertains with free, short 3-to-5-minute stories while sharing the secrets of Philadelphia’s and America’s history. Check out the other seven Storytelling Benches around the Historic District!

11:15 am – Happy Birthday Franklin Square with Benjamin Franklin 
– Free treats with the Square’s Namesake (while supplies last).

12:00 pm – Franklin Square Fountain Show
– Watch as the 187-year-old historic Rendell Family Fountain dazzles with lights and a choreographed water spectacular every 30 minutes (songs rotate every performance).
