Relive the First Continental Congress where it actually took place!
Thursdays this summer, step back in time to 1774 and take a front-row seat for the debates that shaped a nation. Held in the historic Carpenters’ Hall—the actual site of the First Continental Congress.
Enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres as you watch the Founding Fathers debate independence and the path forward for the colonies. Hear Charles Thomson and Patrick Henry reflect on the early days of the Congress and witness the heated exchange between Patrick Henry and Joseph Galloway over how the colonies should respond to British taxes, proposed trade bans, and the idea of a colonial union.
Produced by Historic Philadelphia, Inc. in partnership with the Carpenters’ Company, this performance offers a compelling look at how representatives from diverse colonies began to forge a new American identity.
