Historic Philadelphia, Inc. (HPI), the parent organization of Once Upon A Nation, has an active partnership with the National Park Service (NPS). As our partner, NPS shares their historical research with HPI to assure that the stories we tell have been thoroughly vetted for accuracy. This partnership enables us to develop stories that complement and supplement the information their historians share at Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell Center, the Second Bank, Franklin Court and other Independence National Historical Park properties. NPS staff also participate in the “Benstitute,” HPI’s intensive training program for History Makers and Storytellers.
Our partnership with the National Park Service even extends to the Betsy Ross House where the Betsy interpreters have created historically accurate draperies and bed coverings for several of the historic houses owned and operated by the NPS.
