Unfurling History: Highlight from the Historic Flag Collection

Now on view, Unfurling History: Highlights from the Historic Flag Collection features historic American flags dating from the Civil War through the 1950s, many displayed publicly for the first time.

The collection was donated to the Betsy Ross House by the Philadelphia Flag Day Association in 2018 and offers a rare opportunity to explore how the American flag evolved across generations of conflict, patriotism, and national identity.

Included with Betsy Ross House admission.

Opening June 5: Stars & Stripes: 250 Years, 250 Drawings

Beginning June 5, Flagmakers’ Hall will present Stars & Stripes: 250 Years, 250 Drawings by artist Damon Belanger.

Created for the Semiquincentennial, the exhibition features 250 original works inspired by the American flag and its evolving meaning across 250 years of American history.

On Display June 14 – July 4: Treasured Heirlooms

Opening on Flag Day, Treasured Heirlooms offers a rare, personal look at Betsy Ross through objects connected directly to her life and work.

The exhibition will feature a new significant addition to the House’s collection, recently donated to the Betsy Ross House by her descendant, Eric Conrad. The object will stand alongside personal items from the collection including her glasses, snuffbox, and more.

Presented publicly for the first time, these objects offer visitors a deeper connection to the woman behind one of America’s most enduring stories.

Included with Betsy Ross House admission.
