Unfurling History: Highlights from the Historic Flag Collection

Now on view, Unfurling History: Highlights from the Historic Flag Collection features historic American flags dating from the Civil War through the 1950s, many displayed publicly for the first time.

The collection was donated to the Betsy Ross House by the Philadelphia Flag Day Association in 2018 and offers a rare opportunity to explore how the American flag evolved across generations of conflict, patriotism, and national identity.

Included with Betsy Ross House admission.

Opening June 5: Stars & Stripes: 250 Years, 250 Drawings

Flagmakers’ Hall presents Stars & Stripes: 250 Years, 250 Drawings by artist Damon Belanger.

Created for the Semiquincentennial, the exhibition features 250 original works inspired by the American flag and its evolving meaning across 250 years of American history.
