President’s Day Weekend
Join us February 13-15 as we celebrate the holiday weekend with free make-and-take crafts for kids.  NOTE:  The House will be open Monday, February 15 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. for the holiday.


Visit Our New Upholstery Shop     
The Betsy Ross House brings Betsy’s business back to life in its newly redesigned shop.  The only 18th century upholstery shop in America will now be hands-on and interactive.  Meet Betsy, hard at work plying her trade, and have the chance to ask her, not only about how she came to sew the nation’s first flag, but all about her business.  See real upholsterer’s tools and learn first-hand how they were used in this state-of-the-art new exhibit made possible with the support of American Express.

Schedule:

  • Meet Betsy Ross in her newly renovated upholstery shop 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday;
  • Story Time Sundays with Betsy continue at 11 a.m. Sundays, February 7, 14, 21 & 28;   hear stories from Betsy’s life, as well as 18th century children’s tales and participate in a craft project;
  • President’s Day Weekend features make-and-take crafts 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. February 13-15;
  • President’s Day the House is open 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.;
  • Re-covering the Past:  The Upholstery Trade in Colonial Philadelphia, our current exhibit, continues in the gallery.
