Where is this event being held and where can I purchase tickets?
The Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival will be held in Franklin Square at 6th and Race streets. Tickets will be available at the Festival entrance or online at www.historicphiladelphia.org/chineselanternfestival. For groups of 20 or more, please contact Group Sales by calling (215) 629-5801 x213. The Franklin Square Pavilion can be rented for birthday parties, corporate events, and special events.
Is the park still open during the day?
Franklin Square is open daily, free until 5pm. The Square closes each day at 5 p.m. for preparations for the Festival to begin. Last Ticket Sales and Entrance to Philly Mini Golf are at 4:15 p.m. Last Ticket Sales and Entrance to the Parx Liberty Carousel are at 4:30 p.m. The Franklin Square Playground remains open until 9 p.m. each day (Please use the 7th Street entrance after 5pm).
Is this an indoor or outdoor event?
This is an outdoor event, rain, snow or shine. Please check current weather conditions for your visit and dress appropriately.
What does the ticket admission include?
Admission includes viewing all of the amazing displays, exhibits, cultural activities, and Authentic Chinese Performances.
What are the Chinese performances?
Chinese performances include acrobatics, face-changing, and traditional Chinese dance and music.
What Food and beverage choices do you offer?
SquareBurger has a delicious expanded menu including the Shake-of-the-Month, Burger-of-the-Month, breakfast items, vegetarian options and family favorites such as cheesesteak fries and mac & cheese. During the Festival, SquareBurger will offer a special menu including: SquareBurger, Sweet & Sour Burger, Veggie Burger, Cheesesteak Egg Rolls, Chinese Chicken Salad, Hot Dogs, Mixed Fries of white potato and sweet potato, the renowned Cake Shake, and a new special Fortune Cookie Shake.
Located on the Great lawn, Roe Contemporary Cuisine’s menu includes Chicken Satay, Beef Bao, Soba Noodle Salad, Thai Tea with Boba, Grilled Corn, Hot Milk and Tea.
Where can we park?
Visitors are encouraged to park at PPA AutoPark @ Independence Mall, located between 5th and 6th streets and Market and Arch streets (directly underneath the Independence Visitor Center). Sunday – Thursday, parking is a flat rate of $7.50 with a $2 discount if you show your Lantern Festival ticket at the garage office (located on level P1, at the exit plaza). Guests must enter the parking lot after 5:00 pm and exit before 3:00 am to receive the discount—if entry and exit time is outside of those parameters, guests must pay normal lot rates. Fridays and Saturdays, parking is a flat rate of $5.

Where can we sit to view performances?
There will be limited seating available in front of the main stage.
Do you allow animals?
Animals are allowed at the Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival.
Can I smoke onsite?
This event is a smoke free event. No smoking of any kind will be allowed. This includes vaping.
If I cannot attend, can I get a refund for my tickets?
We do not offer refunds for unused tickets.
